Rooted in tradition yet driven by innovation, our ateliers embody the spirit of contemporary craftsmanship —
where creativity, mastery of materials, and aesthetic refinement converge.
Atelier Alexandre Lowie translates craftsmanship into functional designs with the presence of a pièce de résistance.
Every piece is entirely handmade — and it shows. That love for traditional techniques shines through in elegant furniture, where they serve as a mark of quality and savoir-faire. Attention to detail is the common thread running through all of the Atelier’s work.
In addition to limited-edition collections, the Atelier also creates unique, custom-made pieces for those who dare to choose subtle grandeur — a bold, uncompromising object that can be passed down with pride to the next generation. Luxury, certainly — but expressed through perfect execution and refined aesthetics.
Alexandre Lowie is both creator and craftsman. His background as a furniture maker and restorer reveals a deep respect for traditional crafts, as well as for materials and textures. This results in designs rooted in technical expertise, combined with a love for everything authentic and handmade. The Atelier’s craftsmanship also extends into other disciplines — the only constant being a profound respect for manual labor.

Atelier Catherine Janssens
Violin maker
Catherine Janssens graduated from the Newark School of Violin Making in 2004. She opened her own workshop in Brussels in 2005, while continuing her training through courses and seminars (in set up, restoration, drawing, acoustics, varnishing: West Dean, Jean-Jacques Fasnacht, Iris Carr, François Denis, Wim and Jan Van Weyenberg, François Perego).
In 2009, she took part in the creation of the Atelier Flagey, a shared space for work and exchange between luthiers and bow makers where she remains active until 2019.
The ‘Platform for Education and Talent’ (King Baudouin Foundation) awarded her a grant in 2015.
Trained as a violinist, Catherine Janssens is particularly interested in the sound production of both baroque and modern instruments, and is devoting part of her study to discovering the acoustic principles underlying quartet instruments.
As a founding member and president of the EKHO association from 2014 to 2023, she has greatly contributed to the wider promotion and recognition of contemporary instrument making in Belgium.
An active member of ALADFI (the French association of luthiers and bow makers), she also seeks to encourage greater collaboration between luthiers and to promote relations between luthiers and musicians. As such, she is regularly invited to speak about violin making at courses, conferences, discussions, presentations and concerts. (Sainte Cécile ALADFI 2012, Stavelot 2017, Poznan 2018, Hallway Manor BVMA 2022…)
In 2019, she develops the Atelier Catherine Janssens, ‘at home’, where she collaborates closely with the French bow maker Eric Fournier.
In December 2023, she took over the ALADFI presidency to further pursue her commitment to promoting her profession.

Stained-glass windows and stained-glass art
Atelier Mestdagh
3 generations. Endless know-how and love for the craft.
The story of Atelier Mestdagh is also the story of the family behind the studio. From Albert Mestdagh, who founded the studio in 1947, and his wife Yvonne, about their son Luc and his wife Ingrid, to their oldest daughter Katrien Mestdagh, who joined in 2004. The family (and their group of loyal and experienced employees) loves stained glass art and does everything it can to keep alive the traditional techniques of pater familias Albert.
In 2015, Katrien was awarded the ‘Master in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management’ at the University of York. She is also in contact with numerous international glass specialists, so that the old artisan knowledge is strengthened and supported today by scientific research. Thanks to that know-how and the passionate team, the studio makes and restores stained glass windows just as they did in the past, but with an eye to the future. Atelier Mestdagh wants to inspire as well as bring new artworks into the world.

BRŪT
Handbuilt performance yachts
Where Luxury Meets Performance
At BRŪT, we redefine the art of yachting. Our passion lies in creating vessels that seamlessly blend the elegance of luxury yachts with the agility of high-performance boats. We have meticulously crafted a perfect tender that marries the best of both worlds: the perfect fusion of speed and agility with exquisite luxury and comfort.
A Legacy of Excellence
With over 11 years of hands-on experience in designing and constructing high-end boats, our CEO brings unparalleled expertise to the organisation. But BRUT is more than just craftsmanship: it is about a relentless passion for innovation, luxury and how this is leveraged into the naval engineering industry. Within our team, we do not settle – we push boundaries, to unleash the full potential of our brand.
Sustainable From Sketch to Delivery
Sustainability is not an afterthought, it is woven into our DNA. We offer an electric hybrid option, that at low speeds offers full electric propulsion, whilst aiding the main engine at higher speeds. At those higher speeds, however, fuel consumption is already reduced by +30% thanks to efficient optimization of aero and hydrodynamics. Next, the hull is made out of natural, volcanic rock material to even further reduce our environmental footprint. At BRŪT, sustainability is our compass.
Natural dyed bespoke flowers
Dorothée l’a fait
Dorothée. makes vibrant colours, in natural dyes, from plants on silk. She created her own poetic system of classification of the dyed colours: her gardens of colours.
She uses special antic tools to make fabric flowers and transform the hand dyed materials into petals and into bouquets of silk flower brooches, headpieces or other accessories.
As in nature, you will never find two identical flowers or accessories, each piece Dorothée makes is unique.
Laure Kasiers
Rug designer & artisan
As a textile designer and artisan, I create and make rugs—one-of-a-kind pieces to adorn floors or walls—in my Brussels studio. My unconventional technique combines a mechanical process with a manual, artisanal creation phase. I repurpose trimming ribbons, using them upright, on their edges, and it is this treatment that shapes the design. The designs arise naturally through my touch. The organic, irregular, singular shapes that result from this seem to come straight out of nature, from the eyepiece of a microscope, from an aerial view, fire people’s imagination.
I offer a constantly enriched collection of models, always unique and available custom-made for individuals or professionals.
Eco-responsible and local, production is done in Belgium using bio-sourced materials (linen, wool) and partly recycled materials (end of stock).
Bookbinder

In 2013, Pierre Walusinski launched her career by holding a solo-exhibition dedicated to her work at the Librairie Nicaise.
In 2015, she completed her training with Renaud Vernier, who was designated Maître d’Art by the French Ministry of Cultural Affairs in 2000.
In february 2017, Philippe Luiggi and Michel Scognamillo holded an exhibition of 47 of her bindings in Sotheby’s Galerie Charpentier, in Paris.
